Wuyanghe is one of several high beam bridges on the north-south highway between Sinan and the G60 expressway in Guizhou Province. Several different configurations were studied before they decided on a double beam span of 180 meters on piers as high as 120 meters. The other designs included a cable stayed bridge with a span of 270 meters and single span beams as long as 230 meters.
