The longest span crossing on the Dianfengwu Expressway near Fengdu in Chonqing, the Fengdu Xingyi Yangtze River Bridge has a double decker truss with a four-lane expressway bridge on the top level and a four-lane local highway on the lower level.
The suspension bridge upper deck width is 31 meters with a lower deck width of 24.5 meters. The total length of 2,343 meters has a main span cable configuration of 305+1120+315 meters. The span of the north approach bridge is 4x40 +5x40 +4x40 meters while the span of the south approach bridge is 4x60 +4x40 +2(3x40) +55 meters of which the 55 and 60 spans are steel box beam structures. The third 4x40 meter spans on the north bank are prestressed concrete cast-in-place box beams with the remaining 40 meter spans composed of prefabricated prestressed concrete T beams.
