One of Japan’s many steel box girder arch bridges, the twin span Fukatanigawa bridge carries a 4-lane highway 361 feet (110 mtrs) above a deep ravine in the mountains of Shimane prefecture. Completed in 1982, the bridge was designed and constructed by Hitachi Shipbuilding & Engineering Company.
