Located 7 miles (11 kms) west of the city of Bouira, Algeria, this huge new prestressed concrete beam bridge soars 427 feet (130 mtrs) above the desert landscape about 30 miles (48 kms) south of the Mediterranean Ocean and is the second highest bridge of its type in Africa. The bridge is part of a major new East-West highway that cuts across Algeria.
