Leaping between two vertical cliffs, the Haima arch bridge is one of many high spans that cross the great Wu River. Completed in 2016, the 2-lane concrete span connects Jinsha and Xiuwan Counties with a deck to water drop of between 105 to 175 meters depending on the depth of the reservoir. The bridge has a total length of 250 meters and a width of 11.5 meters. The rib arch rise of 32.7 meters makes for a span to rise ratio of 5.5 to 1. The main arch rib is composed of single box with 3 chambers measuring 7.8 meters wide and 3.2 meters thick. The bridge deck width is 11.5 meters wide. Each of the spandrel spans are 12.7 meters.
The 2-lane crossing is located on the X186 local road.
The temporary construction footbridge next the arch was an impressive span of approximately 250 meters.
The giant Wu River is one of the 5 largest tributaries of the entire Yangtze River and has a collection of high bridges greater then any river in the world.
