Youshui Railway Bridge
酉水特大桥
Gaopingxiang, Hunan
(575) feet high / (175) meters high
958 foot span / 292 meter span
2020

The largest bridge on the new high speed railway between Jishou and Zhangjiajie, the Youshui Railway arch will be a rare asymmetrical concrete filled tubular span of 292 meters. The crossing parallels the giant Furongzhen Bridge on the Longshan-Yongshun-Jishou expressway. A reservoir more then 40 meters deep hides much of the height of the Youshui Railway Bridge.

A highline with a span of 865 meters was built across the gorge to assist in the construction of the giant arch. The south arch foundation is 48.4 meters higher then the north arch foundation and is probably the largest elevation differential between springings on an arch ever built in China.

The two T-beam spans that flank both sides of the arch are 2 x 43.75 and 2 x 59 meters.
