Xiaoheishuihe Bridge is a cantilevered beam bridge on the upgraded local route on the west side of the Jinshajiang Gorge that parallels the Dongchuan Gele to Qiaojia Hulukou expressway that runs along the east side of the great Jinshajiang River in Yunnan Province. The main span configuration of 95+180+95 meters rests on piers as tall as 115 meters.

The local routes and the expressway run along the sides of the reservoir that will form behind the 277 meter tall Baihetan Dam. The Dongchuan to Qiaojia expressway has a number of high beam bridges as well as the giant Jinshajiang Qiaojia suspension bridge that will cross the reservoir at the northern end of the expressway near the Hulukou suspension bridge.
