Designed by Pierre-Yves Chays, the Step Into The Void Platform is located along the edge of a spectacular rock promontory at the top of the 3,842 meter high Aiguille du Midi.  The top of this mountain is the closest a tourist can come to reaching the top of Mont Blanc – the highest mountain in Europe.  The platform can be reached by a 20-minute cable car ride.

The small box “room” is made of five glass panels that are 12 mm thick and composed of 3 layers bonded together.  The drop directly below the edge of the glass box is probably not more then 50 meters but the steep slope is said to continue on down for 1,035 meters.
