One of the 4 high bridges around the Gassan Lake region, the Tamugigawa Bridge is the oldest of the group having been built in 1977 on the older route 112. The steel arch of 150 meters supports a two-lane deck that is 9 meters wide between curbs.

Just to the north of the Asahi Gassan Lake Bridge are the Oamigawa and Koamigawa Bridges.
