Sigriswil, Bern, Switzerland
597 feet high / 182 meters high
984 foot span / 300 meter span
2014

The 3rd highest footbridge in Europe, Switzerland's Panoramabrücke Sigriswil crosses a deep crevasse high up above Lake Thunersee in a gorgeous region of Bern.

Sigriswil Footbridge is the highest of what is planned to be as many as 6 footbridges along a continuous 56 Km trail around the lake. So far 3 footbridges have been constructed including Hängebrücke Leissigen and Panoramabrücke Beatenberg. Hängebrücke Oberhofen may or may not be constructed.

The 300 meter main span of Sigriswil also ranks among Europe's 10 greatest and is supported by two V-shaped towers 27 meters tall. The total length of the bridge is 344 meters between anchorages. The deck is 1.2 meters wide. The main cables are full locked-coil steel wire ropes by Fatzer.
