Shangshiguan Bridge is one of the world's highest T-beam bridges with only one pier. This rare type of beam bridge is perfect for crossings where a long main span is not necessary and smaller approach spans can be more easily and inexpensively built for the rest of the bridge. The giant Chishuihe beam bridge is located just a kilometer to the west of Shangshiguan and carries the G76 expressway south from Sichuan into Guizhou Province.
