The Sauer River is a tributary of the Mosel River. Located near the junction of the two rivers, the A1 motorway crosses over the Sauertalbrücke. Completed in 1987, the massive viaduct is 3,921 feet (1195 mtrs) long with spans that range from 246 feet (75 mtrs) to 492 feet (150 mtrs). The western half of the bridge is in Luxembourg while the eastern half is in Germany.
