The highest bridge on the 126 kilometer long Biwei Expressway between Bijie and Weining in Guizhou Province, the giant Qixinghe Bridge crosses high above the deep gorge of the Liuchonghe River. This waterway forms the north fork of the Wujiang River which has more high bridges across it then any other river on earth. Despite being lower in height then Qixinghe, the nearby Hezhang Bridge gets all the media attention with its epic central pier of 195 meters. The third great bridge on the route is the Tian Bridge which is almost 230 meters high.

The Qixinghe Bridge has a span configuration of 9×40 +106+200+106 +3×40 meters.
