The old river surface at the crossing is approximately 125 meters below the full reservoir surface. With the deck another 30 meters above the lake the Piplaldal Bridge is approximately 155 meters high.

Piplaldal is one of 3 high and long span suspension bridges over the Tehri reservoir including the Syansu and Chanthi Dobar Bridges.
