The highest and longest footbridge span in Italy at the time of its opening in 2018, the Ponte nel Cielo is a tourist span within the beautiful mountain town of Morbegno in the Lombardy region. Every year there is a Cielo Run that encircles the forested river gorge.
Nel Cielo is one of several high "Tibetano"-style footbridges in Italy.
