1,759 foot span / 536 meter span

The longest span bridge in all of Gansu Province, the Liujiaxia Bridge crosses over a Yellow River tributary along the southern edge of the giant Liujiaxia reservoir. The deck is approximately 50 meters above the lake and 100 meters above the now hidden mouth of the creek.
Several different styles of tower were studied before a final design was selected. The 2-lane deck is 12 meters wide and carries national road 109 along a corridor from Linxia to Yongjing and then to Lanzhou, the largest city in Gansu Province. Also on this route across the Yellow River on the eastern end of the reservoir is the beautiful Qijia Huanghe arch bridge with a span of 180 meters.
