The 75 meter tall piers have prestressed concrete strands spiraling from top to bottom to prevent seismic damage. Also nearby on the E48 route Yamagata Expressway is the Oamigawa arch bridge.
Just to the south is the Asahi Gassan Lake beam bridge.
