The highest of about half a dozen big beam bridges on the G65 Tonghuang section of the Baotou-Maoming Expressway, the Juhe Bridge has among the tallest piers in all of Shaanxi Province at 140.5 meters. The span arrangement is 4x30 +85+160x3+85 +5x40 meters. The single-cell beams have a top width of 16.65 meters and a bottom width of 8.65 meters. The beam depth is 9.8 meters over the piers and 3.5 meters deep at midspan.

The two central piers are 9 meters thick with a variable width of 8.65 to 10.65 meters. The two large side piers are double-thin wall with a width of 8.65 meters. The two central piers have foundations with piles 2 meters in diameter while the side piers having piles that are 1.6 meters in diameter. The deck is 33.5 meters wide accommodating 6 lanes of traffic.

The new expressway is located approximately 20 kilometers west of the G65 expressway and parallels the older expressway from northern Xian all the way to Huangling. The Juhe crossing is located just 2 kilometers south of the Taoqupo dam and reservoir.
