Located in a remote region of Guangxi Province, the Tianmenshan Viewing Platform is a variation on the popular U-shaped overlook with the inside of the platform closed in with the glass panels spread around the outside periphery of the overlook. The platform is located on top of a massive dome of rock.

The Guilin Tianmenshan Overlook can only be reached by a short gondola ride up from the Zijiang River station. A very modern looking building is located over the edge of the Zijiang River a short distance from the gondola station.
