Canada's largest wood coaster for decades, the Giant Dipper ran from 1925 to 1947 in Vancouver's Happyland Park. The 85 foot tall twister was one of 3 Prior & Church coasters that were built in 1925 with similar layouts that included a large fan curve followed by a second drop that came next to the first drop. These sister coasters include the Savin Rock Thunderbolt and the Cyclone at Revere Beach.

The first drop of 70 feet led up to a fan curve that dropped 45 feet before a third drop plunged 50 feet alongside the lift hill. In 1935 the ribbon boards were doubled making for just a 2.5 foot spacing between boards.
