The G42 expressway is filled with medium-sized beam bridges like Chenjiagou Bridge that are wedged between tunnels high up along the north side of the Yangtze River.

Just to the east is the 103 meter high Yaojiapo Bridge. Several kilometers to the west are the Bayang Bridges #1 and #2.
