Tangjiahe Bridge is part of a new 3rd level local highway that will connect mountainous regions of Baojing County that have been separated by the deep gorge of the Tangjia River. The steep canyon walls support a spectacular red concrete filled steel arch span of 200 meters. The 8.5 meter roadway has a total length of 280 meters with two 20 meter approach spans on either side of the main arch. The 8 steel arch ribs rise 40 meters to the crown giving the arch a span to rise ratio of 5:1. The bridge is approximately 160 meters above the surface of a reservoir approximately 20 meters deep.
A parallel one-lane construction access catenary suspension bridge was nearly as high as the main bridge.
